For auditors

Every answer opens onto the records behind it.

The checklist follows your form, item by item, and an answer links to a record it was worked out from. From there, follow the batch to every animal it went into and who gave each dose.

Every answer

Every answer says what it couldn’t see. An answer the feedlot can’t work out reads n/a, an item with nothing behind it reads No record, and a record with no date reads Due, never Ready.

After the audit

The CAR you raise comes back filled in, with its evidence. Containment, root cause, corrective and preventive action and verification sit on one finding with the files that show them, on a thirty-day target.

The feedlot’s side

The feedlot’s side of the audit is on NFAS & audit. How the checklist keeps itself up to date, and how the audit pack and evidence folder are put together.

FAQ

Questions auditors ask.

Is the checklist in my form’s numbering?

Yes. It holds the 132 items, 1.1.1 to 7.1.2, against the NFAS Rules and Standards (June 2025 edition), and every row carries your question in full.

Can a batch be traced after a residue detection?

Yes. A batch opens onto every animal it was given to, with who gave each dose and the pen each animal is in now, and the list exports for a recall or a consignee notice.

What does a program or EUCAS auditor see?

The same records. Each head carries its HGP status and how it was set, and every load is checked as it leaves against its order’s days on feed, withholding and HGP-free promise.

Offtake & dispatch
Can you show me the hospital pen on a past day?

Yes, for any of the last 90 days. Pen replay rebuilds the head in each pen at the close of the day you pick.

How is heat load worked out?

Hour by hour, from the feedlot’s own weather station, against the threshold in its heat load risk assessment (3.6.2). A day counts only when enough of its hours can be worked out.
